For the better part of two years, everyone smelled like a dessert. Every fragrance launch seemed determined to turn its wearer into the sweetest thing in the room. Vanilla, caramel, marshmallow, pistachio, and whipped cream appeared everywhere. Social media declared gourmand fragrances the ultimate comfort scent. Remember when everyone and their second cousin had a bottle of Bianco Latte? Soon after, other fragrance houses rushed to push out their perfume with the exact same formula and notes. Fast forward to 2026, and the mood has changed. We have left the sugary craze behind. Perfume houses have now begun looking to their gardens for inspiration. Today's fragrance releases emphasize greens, florals, fruits, grains, and other botanicals. As a fragrance connoisseur, I have noticed a growing number of perfume brands embracing more nature-inspired dna. There's a shift away from syrupy sweetness to fresh florals and airy compositions.
