Sharing My Perfume Collection Pt. 3

Hello everyone!

Welcome back to the blog! I hope you're doing amazing. I have finished my side quests and it is now time to share even more of my favorite fragrances. Welcome to the third installment of "Sharing My Perfume Collection".

 1. MFK Grand Soir

I believe Grand Soir by Maison Francis Kurkdjian is severely underrated, perhaps because it's stuck in the shadow of Baccarat Rouge, the golden child of the MFK house. Grand Soir and Baccarat Rouge are similar, but not exactly the same. Grand Soir is rich and heavily resin based. To me, it's the final boss of amber fragrances. Unlike Baccarat, it doesn't wrap you in a cloud of sensuality, but it's sophisticated and oddly soothing. This scent is vibrant, warm, and comforting with notes of citrus, Spanish labdanum, benzoin, and vanilla. Overall, it's radiant, warm, and comforting.

2. Shalimar by Guerlain

Shalimar holds a special place in my heart as a perfume enthusiast. This fragrance was inspired by the love story of Prince Khuram and Mumtaz Mahal (yes, as in the Taj Mahal). It is a timeless classic. Shalimar is the first amber fragrance ever crafted, but it doesn't have amber in the center of its DNA. The top notes are citrus: Mandarin orange, lemon, and bergamot. With additional notes of resin, incense, rose, jasmine, vetiver, cedar, and civet, oddly enough. Shalimar is an exquisite scent. This is a goddess-worthy fragrance. It's bold, rich, sexy, and long-lasting, just like the love between the prince and his wife.

3. Meliora by Parfums de Marly

This is the first fragrance I have ever owned from Parfums de Marlys, and it's my favorite of the brand. Meliora is soft and pretty. I would argue that this is one of the rare fragrances that pleases everyone. She's berry forward, with fresh raspberries and blackberries at the beginning. There are also notes of rose, jasmine tea, lily of the valley, ylang ylang, vanilla, and cedarwood. Meliora just gives me late-spring/early-summer vibes. There's something so fresh and ethereal about this perfume that has me obsessed.

4. Palatine by Parfums de Marly

Some people don't like Palatine, but some people are wrong. It's always nice to see a fragrance house think outside the box. Palatine opens with pear and Mandarin orange as the top notes. In the first spray, it grabs your attention and holds on to it with violet and lavender. It's like Dior's Pure Poison but I think it's more elegant. Palatine transitions into a warm base of amber, sandalwood, and musk, creating a balanced and sophisticated dry down. It's a beautiful blend despite its simple DNA. It's a versatile scent that works well for both day and evening wear, offering a unique blend of freshness and depth that stands out in the Parfums de Marly lineup.

5. Safanad by Parfums de Marly

At first, I thought Safanad would be another citrus perfume and I was disappointed. However, I was proved wrong, and I am delighted with Safanad. It opens with citrus, pear, and petitgrain, jasmine, and yellow florals such as ylang-ylang and orange blossom. It dries down to ambroxin and sandalwood. She's orange-focused, but I don't get citrusy vibes. Safanad is definitely warm and skin-like, but also smells green and woody. I feel like the petitgrain balances out the orange and orange blossom. I guess the vision was of an orange tree in a garden rather than the orange itself. Overall, this fragrance is natural, vibrant, powdery, and subtly sweet. Safanad is definitely one of Parfums de Marly's best fragrances, arguably better than Delina...

6. Iris de Syracuse

Boucheron is a new fragrance house for me. Iris de Syracuse is the most powdery and delicate fragrance I have ever owned. The black pepper note is a nice surprise, but it quickly gets replaced by iris and heliotrope. I also like the pear and jasmine notes. A lot of people say this give baby powder, and I agree. This may be too light for some people. Especially because of how short it lasts and how little it projects. I don't think every perfume needs to be strong and attention-grabbing. Call me a hypocrite. However, Iris de Syracuse is perfect for people who like the smell of fresh linen or that clean skin smell.

And that is all I have for you today, my loves! Let me know what you think of this array of fragrances. Have you tried any of these perfumes? Would you say my descriptions are pretty accurate? I would love to know what you think in the comments or over on Instagram.

xoxo,

Scarlette
