Things I Do For A Sensuous and Rich Life | Habits For 2026
Hello Everyone!
Welcome back to the blog! I hope you are doing well. In the year of 2026, many people want to work on changing their lives. Some people want to leave the nest and soar to new heights. Other people want to rock the boat, shake the table, say the things they were scared to say last year. With all this pressure to change, rebrand, and shed our skin like snakes, I have decided to go against the current. In 2026, my goal is to continue living a life that I enjoy, indulgent and pleasurable. That is why I am here today to share some things I have incorporated into my life to make it more rich and sensual. In no way am I telling you to do these things, but I have found that they improve my life.
1. Slow mornings
I don't immediately get out of bed when I wake up in the morning. Instead, I lay down for a few more minutes. I am naturally not a morning person. Everyone who knows me knows that I don't even leave my bed until noon at least. For some people, there's no time to enjoy their morning. They wake up, jump out of bed, get ready, grab something quick to eat if they have time, and rush to whatever they need to do for the day. That's no way to live in my opinion. Take a few minutes to gather yourself in the morning. Don't check your phone, don't check the time, just lay there. Even if it's just five minutes, those five minutes belong to you.
2. Eating well
I have an Italian friend who is one of the happiest people I know. When I asked her what she does to be so joyful, she said she eats food that makes her happy. Maybe it's a cultural thing, as Italians are known for good food and good vibes. Still, there is merit in her advice. Eat food that you enjoy, food that engages your senses, and leaves you satisfied. Personally, I like to cook at home, but I'll never deny myself eating out if I want to.
3. Allowing myself to be extra
I believe that life should be lived to the best of your capacity, which looks different for everyone. For me, it's a bubble bath as soon as I leave my bed. It's also going to get a massage every two weeks. It's also going on a shopping spree just because. You are allowed to do things that make you feel good. Yes it's extra, but it makes life more pleasant. At the end of the day that's really all that matters. Life without a little indulgence is bland.
4. Getting to know myself
When I say "getting to know myself", I mean that in every sense. That means being open to trying new things to see what interests me and what doesn't. It means journaling my thoughts. It can also mean standing naked in front of the mirror to see how beautiful I am. You don't have to do everything I do if you aren't comfortable. The point is that since you're going to be with yourself for the rest of your life, you might as well learn about yourself.
5. Leaving
Since my divorce, I left the city of Seoul and moved to Northern California. (You don't need to know where I live specifically) It's very peaceful and I love having a space to call my own. You are free to leave a place that you've outgrown. There wasn't any more for me to do in Seoul, so I left. The great part about leaving is that once you leave, you'll be introduced to new things. I've gone on more dates, found my sense of style, and adopted a few dogs so my house isn't completely empty.
6. Surrounding myself with beautiful things
As an Aphrodite devotee, I have learned that beauty comes in many forms. The flowers in my garden, the mountains in the distance, my ever-growing lingerie collection, the swans in the lake behind my house, me. It's important to have beauty in your life. In fact, there is science behind why beauty improves your life. It can calm the limbic system, lower cortisol and blood pressure, support healthy hormone regulation, and activate dopamine. What you define as beautiful as up to you, but whatever it is, make sure it takes up space in your life.
And there you have it, everyone! These are things that I do to make life more enjoyable. Let me know what you think. Do you have any habits for your life? Share them with me in the comments or over on my Instagram.
xoxo,
Scarlette
