Sharing My Perfume Collection | Part 2

Hello Lovely People!

Welcome back to the blog! I hope you're doing amazing. I have finally brought this blog back from the dead. What better way to celebrate than by giving you the much anticipated (like 3 people asked) sequel to a popular post. Welcome to the second part of my perfume collection! Just like last time, I'm going to share the perfume, describe it to you, and what I think it pairs well with. This time I'm going to share six more of my favorite fragrances. Depending on how much you like this, I may make a part 3 (I'm already building another shelf to hold more perfume). With that out of the way, here are more of my favorite perfumes.

 1. Baccarat Rouge 540 Extrait

Baccarat Rouge has been around since 2015 but has only recently become a cult classic among fragrance lovers. I have the Extrait version, which is a bit stronger than the original, but I still love it. Personally, I like to be noticed before I arrive, Queen of Sheba style. I must say that this is the perfect balance of spice and floral. BR540 is warm, sensual, and inviting. It starts with light notes of saffron and almond, hinting at the rest of the formula. The fragrance then develops with jasmine and cedar, drying down into something animalistic with musk, ambergris, and cashmere. Overall, it's very seductive. Kurkdjian claims this fragrance is unisex, but I'm biased and feel it wears better on women.

BR540 is already a pretty strong fragrance, even more so if it's the Extrait version. However, I did find a few scents that pair very well with it. If you want to bring out the woody notes, pair it with Santal 33 by Le Labo. Mojave Ghost by Byredo, is perfect if you want to play into that sensual amber note. Cashmere & Palo Santo by Donna Karan has the same heady and invigorating aura as Baccarat.

2. YSL Libre

Feminine, elegant, yet bold. That is the best way to describe Libre. I learned something new when I bought this perfume, it's actually pronounced "Leeb". Regardless, Libre is an iconic and timeless perfume. I first noticed the florals and lavender that opened the fragrance. There's also a playful hint of citrus that adds vibrancy. I like the addition of currants and citrus that stops Libre from being another basic floral perfume. Libre is the perfect scent for all occasions. Many people prefer the intense version, but the original Libre is perfect for those who want something soft and quiet yet still want to turn heads.

YSL Libre is pretty difficult to fuck up. It's simple enough to be layered easily and light enough to not fight with other fragrances. Burberry Goddess or Atheeri by Lattafa are both great choices, as they are both pretty florals that don't do too much. Speaking of Lattafa, Angham would be your best friend here because it's lavender forward.

3. Dior Pure Poison

Do you want every man you pass to become hopelessly entranced and captivated by you? Do you want to haunt them for all eternity like a beautiful ghost? If so, this isn't the perfume for you. Honestly, this perfume is great, it just doesn't give the vibes I was expecting. When it comes to the Poison line by Dior, I have to remind myself not to judge a book by its cover. The fragrance opens with jasmine, bergamot, and mandarin, contrasting the base notes of amber, cedar, and sandalwood. It transitions from something light and fresh to warm and almost intense. I admire the bold take this fragrance has, and it does smell quite nice. I think the appeal is more in the story it tells rather than the scent. Pure Poison is like a woman who only gives you a taste or hint of who she is. It is enigmatic and its duality will leave you wanting more. Not really a ghost, but more of a woman you saw in a dream once.

Chanel Chance Eau Fraiche was the first fragrance that came to mind when I thought about pairing. Jasmine is a major component in both perfumes. Gucci Gorgeous Gardenia pairs nicely as well. If you want to play into the base notes, try Bal d'Afrique by Byredo. It's a woody, musky, yet captivating fragrance on the same level as Pure Poison.

4. Burberry Her

Burberry Her changed my perspective on designer perfumes. She's sophisticated yet she doesn't give me "old stuck-up lady" vibes. Burberry Her is very fruity, with notes of strawberry, cherry, raspberry, and subtle citrus notes. She later mellows out to violet, jasmine, and vanilla. It is rare to find a fruity perfume that still feels mature and not like a children's shampoo. Burberry Her feels more like a 20 something's take on those strawberry creme candies your grandma gives you. ("Creme Savers" I think they're called?) She's sweet, airy, fluffy, and a bit creamy as well. The mind behind this fragrance is Francis Kurkdjian, the same man behind Baccarat Rouge 540. Overall, I do love the perfume very much.

I heard someone say this perfume reminds them of that one Strawberry Shortcake doll. That's not related but I just wanted to share that. Anyway, I wore this with Thousand Wishes by Bath and Body Works and it smells heavenly. I also think the Sol de Janeiro 68 line will compliment this perfume. If you want to go for a more floral and light vibe, try You Doux by Glossier.

5. Miutine

I think Miutine deserves more attention. Where Burberry Her is more creamy and sweet, Miutine is more jammy. She has this really pleasant blend of strawberry, rose, brown sugar, patchouli, and bourbon vanilla. Miutine is definitely fun and girly but without the immature feeling. I feel like it's a good balance between sweet and floral. Miutine is a unique fragrance that stands out from the crowd. It's a sophisticated and playful scent that is perfect for any occasion. The combination of fruity, floral, and gourmand notes creates a truly memorable and addictive fragrance experience. If you're looking for a perfume that is both fun and sophisticated, Miutine is definitely worth trying. This was a very thoughtful gift from my mutual @Nushun on Instagram.

If I said that this goes perfectly with Fantasy by Brittany Spears, would you think I'm crazy? They have similar vibes to me and they would smell nice together, at least in theory. Yum Bougie Marshmallow by Kayali would also bring out the sweetness in Miutine, but it would feel more powdery than fresh.

6. J'adore

She's a classic for a reason. J'adore by Dior is a timeless beauty that is perfect for floral fans. This perfume starts off with notes of pear, magnolia, melon, and other delicious fruits. There's something clean and spring-like about J'adore, yet dewy. She's like eating fruits in a garden on a beautiful morning. Some people will call this an "old lady perfume" like that's a bad thing. Every old lady I know who owns this has never had to work a day in her life.

Ideally, J'adore would go well with something that compliments its sweet and summery vibes. You can't go wrong with coconut, Ylang Ylang, or sandalwood notes. My aunt (one of the old ladies that I know) is a big fan of Parfums de Marly. I think Palatine or Meliora would be a good match. Prada Paradoxe, Kayali Sparkling Apple or Sparkling Lychee, and I want Choo by Jimmy Choo also match up well with J'adore.

And there you have it, everyone! Here are some more of my favorite perfumes. Let me know your thoughts. Have you tried any of these perfumes? Is my description pretty accurate? Tell me about you favorites in the comments or over on Instagram.

xoxo,

Scarlette
