Slice of Life #2 | How I spent My 22nd birthday
Hey Babes!
Welcome back to the blog! I hope you are doing well. I'm doing amazing. As of March 18, I am 22 years old. This year, I celebrated my 22nd birthday in a way that was both new and sentimental. If you didn't know, Alex and I are staying in New York while he's on business and while we renovate our old apartment. This is the first time I'm not able to celebrate with my family, but Alex and I still made the most of the day.
The morning started with a visit to two iconic spots: The Metropolitan Museum of Art and the Museum of Ice Cream. I love walking through museums and taking in each exhibit. Walking through the MET, surrounded by timeless art, was an inspiring way to start the day. Then, stepping into the whimsical, pastel world of the Museum of Ice Cream brought out the inner child in me.
The interactive exhibits and sweet treats made for such a fun contrast to the quiet beauty of the MET. I even got to sit on a couch shaped like a banana.
In the afternoon, we hosted a small get-together with our neighbors. I still don't know how to put the theme into words, but the vibe was very coquette and pink. The cake and cookies were heart shaped. Oh my god, the cake! It was very light and fluffy with a delicious berry flavor. I took a few minutes to call my mom and dad and video call my brothers. I actually have plans to visit Zurich soon because my brother Pierre is expecting a baby! Anyway, I enjoyed spending time with my neighbors and forming new friendships!
To end the night on the most romantic note, Alex cooked dinner—heart-shaped ravioli with a rich red sauce, paired with a glass of red wine. It was simple yet intimate, and it made me feel so loved and cherished.
This birthday was different from any other I’ve had before, but in the best way possible. It reminded me of the beauty of new experiences, the warmth of love, and the joy of creating memories in unexpected places. Here’s to another year of adventure and love!
