Monthly Favorites - September 2024
Hey Babes!
Welcome back to the blog! I know I’ve been a little MIA lately, but I’ve got my energy back and I’m so excited to dive into something new with you all. To make up for my absence, I’m kicking off a fresh series called "Monthly Favorites." At the end of each month, I’ll be sharing all the products I’ve been loving—whether it’s makeup, skincare, drinks, or whatever else I’m obsessing over. For each item, you’ll get a mini-review, the reasons I’m hooked, and a rating out of 10. Let’s get into it!

1. Superfood Air Whip Moisture Cream by YTTP
Rating: 10/10
I’ve always loved Youth To The People, and this gem is no exception. I recently grabbed it from Sephora, and I was this close to clearing the shelf—it’s that good. My skin can get pretty dry, so I’m always on the lookout for something hydrating. This lightweight gel hits the sweet spot: it’s moisturizing but doesn’t leave that greasy, heavy feeling on your face. With kale, spinach, green tea, hyaluronic acid, and vitamin C packed inside, it leaves my skin feeling soft, smooth, and seriously healthy. I’ve only been using it for two weeks and can already see a difference. Full 10/10!

2. Bitter Peach by Tom Ford
Rating: 8/10
Alex, my sweet boyfriend, surprised me with this perfume, and it’s been quite the journey! I was obsessed with Not Another Cherry, so when he gifted me Bitter Peach, I was curious. I expected the typical sugary peach vibe, but it’s got a mature, smoky twist with notes of peach and blood orange, rounded out with florals and a hint of vanilla. It’s rich and complex but...that patchouli. Not my favorite. I think it'll have to grow on me, but I’m giving it an 8/10 for now!

3. Born This Way Concealer in Chai by Too Faced
Rating: 10/10
Here's a fun fact about me: I’m not a big fan of foundation or concealer. They always feel too heavy. But this concealer? Total game-changer. It’s lightweight, gives you that flawless photo finish, and it’s full coverage! It gets bonus points for being vegan and cruelty-free. I found it just a few days before writing this post, and I’m so glad I did. If you don’t have this in your makeup kit yet, trust me—you need it. Easy 10/10.

4. Peptide Lip Tint in Raspberry Jelly by Rhode
Rating: 8/10
I’ll be honest, I don’t usually fall for hyped-up products, but this one? It won me over. Picture this: I’m in a club in Itaewon, and I compliment a woman on her lip gloss in the restroom. She tells me it’s by Rhode, and next thing you know, I’m buying it! It gives my lips the perfect soft pout with just a hint of tint. What’s special about it is its versatility—it looks amazing with a natural look but can easily elevate any vibe. After one use, I went back and bought more. A nice 8/10.

5. Powdery Coconut by Dossier
Rating: 7/10
On a whim, I decided to try Dossier and picked up Powdery Coconut. It instantly reminded me of Tom Ford’s Soleil Blanc, which I’m definitely not addicted to, I swear! It’s sweet, tropical, and just a little spicy. It opens with unique notes of cardamom and pistachio, which is a surprising but delicious combo. While I love the sunny, summer vibes it gives, it doesn’t quite match the current cozy season. So for now, it’s a 7/10, but I’ll probably reach for it more come warmer weather.

6. Moisturizing Sunscreen by Bali Body
Rating: 10/10
Sunscreen is non-negotiable, even when you’re spending more time indoors. Bali Body kindly sent over some products, and their sunscreen has been my go-to lately. It’s lightweight, fast-absorbing, and perfect for fall with its SPF 15. They recently changed the packaging at the time I'm writing this. Don’t be fooled by the smaller bottle—it’s the same amazing formula. I love it, and I’m giving it a 10/10!

7. Junmai Ginjo by Tyku
Rating: 10/10
In my recent Slice Of Life post, I mentioned a sake Alex brought back from Kyoto, and this is it! I don’t drink sake often, but this one has a rich, smooth texture that reminds me of a cozy red wine or mulled cider. The flavor is a delicious mix of peach, lychee, and vanilla. It’s so good that I’ve already told Alex to stock up next time he’s in Kyoto. A solid 10/10 for sure!

And that’s a wrap on this month’s favorites! I hope you enjoyed discovering some new products with me. Let me know in the comments if you’ve tried any of these or if you have any recommendations for next month!
Stay fabulous, babes!
