Fashion Forecast: September 2025

Hello, beautiful people!

Welcome back to the blog! I hope you are doing amazing. It's the first of September and the unofficial first day of fall. Which means it's time for everyone's favorite (or at least my favorite) series on the blog, the Fashion Forecast! This month, I have come up with six predictions that I'm sure you will love. Will I be right? Who knows, but it's not like it hasn't happened before.

1. "Nostalgic Mom Fall"

There's a more wholesome version of "Christian Girl Autumn", and I'm going to call it "Nostalgic Mom Fall". This trend is going to play on the upcoming autumnal season and 2000s nostalgia. (rainy days, Barnes and Noble, cinnamon scented everything, whimsygoth motifs, Gilmore Girls, Charmed, Tuscan style interior). If you are familiar with the girlblogging aesthetic on the Internet, which has a more coquette and girlish feel, this is her mother who can't stop thinking about that one autumn season in the early 2000s.

2. Rich, Deep Colors

In anticipation for Autumn and the Halloween season, expect to see more dark purples, reds, greens, and other rich hues. I see this taking off with fashion primarily but it can also spread to decor as well. I can see plum and emerald standing out this month in particular.

3. Southern Gothic

For the people who don't like the traditional autumn aesthetics, I present Southern Gothic. This style mixes western and southern influences with alternative motifs. Think black cowboy hats, silver jewelry, turquoise necklaces, lacy dresses, animal skulls, leather, dark greys, and cowhide. You can find a lot of inspiration of Pinterest and Instagram.

4. Another Darker "Girl" or "Aesthetic" Is Introduced

Don't get me wrong, I love when a new fashion aesthetic is created on the internet, even if it only lasts for two weeks. Around this time last year or the year before last we had the Mob Wife aesthetic take over the internet. We usually have lighter aesthetics come out during the spring and summer (shoujo girl, Igari, light coquette, for example). We can expect to hear about a new fashion style trending sometime in mid September. Something dark, sultry, and most likely witchy because it's fall.

5. Trench Coats, Cardigans, and Blazers Make An Appearance

For when you don't know exactly what to wear during the change in temperature, add a stylish layer. Outerwear can be versatile and elevate any look. I'm currently writing this in the last days of August, but I can already see more people wearing blazers and trench coats over their outfits. When the weather is warmer but a layer is still needed, consider cropped cardigans or dusters.

6. Red and Orange Gemstones

I like the idea of red and orange jewels being trendy in the fall. Gemstones like garnet, topaz, and red jasper may become popular this month.

And that is all that I have for you today, lovely people. Let me know what you think of my predictions. Could you see them happening, or are they too absurd to be realistic? I would love to hear you thoughts and even your own predictions in the comments or over on Instagram.

xoxo,

Scarlette
