Fashion Forecast: August 2025

 Hey Babes!

Welcome back to the blog! I hope you're doing amazing. It's August, and it's almost the end of summer. I hope everyone has spent their summer doing whatever brings them joy, or at the very least, a sense of contentment. As the seasons change, so do the trend cycles. It is time now to do what we always do on this blog, go over the Fashion Forecast! As I said before, I am trying to make things easier on myself while still giving my readers quality work to enjoy. Therefore, I am coming to you with fewer predictions than before.

1. Paddington & Teddy Bear inspired fashion

This trend is more likely to take off in urban cities. Paddington may become an even bigger style icon (as if he wasn't already). Blue trenchcoats and satchel bags are obvious, but some creative people may take it a step further. Expect to see oversize knit sweaters, khaki pants, mary-janes, lace socks, and tweed. This style incorporates teddy bear whimsy, Paddington's classic style, and classic British fashion.

2. Boot-cut/ Flared Bottoms

Reliable, versatile, and very flattering. Usually, I see skinny jeans and form-fitting bottoms gain traction around this time of year. I definitely think there is going to be a twist, so instead of skinny and tight we're going to see more bottoms that flare out at either the knee or ankle.

3. "Go-See" outfits

It is a simple outfit that a model wears on her go-see meetings. The outfit is basic and form fitting; it's not supposed to take attention away from the model. Think solid neutral colors, simple jeans, tank tops, white t-shirts, flats, heels, and short skirts. This look is easy to put together and works for everyone, so of course it's going to be popular.

4. Bandannas and headscarves

Headwear is back! I have a feeling this trend will only exist online, but I want to talk about it anyway. When I think of August, I get this cozy and homely vibe. Something akin to embracing the last few moments of summer before welcoming autumn. It's comforting, and easy. I associate that vibe with bandanas  and scarves as well, more specifically how they're styled. I definitely like the idea of neutral tones or muted pastels, and maybe lace and other feminine fabrics can come into play here.

5.  (Japanese 2000s) Side bangs

It was popular back in the 2000s. Thick bangs brushed to the side. What really came to mind was the Japanese style that was all the rage back then (look at any female manga character from 2001-2012). However, I feel that side bangs in general will make a comeback this season. It has a very girl-next-door vibe. It's feminine, versatile, and adds character to any hairstyle. We can laugh at Millennials all we want, they were on to something.

6. Sunflowers

I've noticed that between spring and summer we start putting flowers on things, maybe that's because it makes sense to have flowers during the warmer seasons. Sunflowers are considered the flower of August, and a perfect send off to the summer season. I can definitely see sunflowers being used in decor, purses, clothing, and linens.

And that is all that I have for you today, readers! Let me know what you think, about both the new changes and this month's forecast. I have been right before, so maybe I'll be right again who knows. Do you have any predictions for August? Let me know in the comments or over on Instagram.

with love,

Scarlette
